Today I will talk a little about my experience when reading “An Apprenticeship or The Book of Pleasures”, by Clarice Lispector, published in 1969.

Many people cite excerpts from Lispector's books, but I believe that few have had the courage to read her books.

Yes, you need to have courage and certain boldness. It is necessary to have firmness to tolerate the anxieties of existence and keep your head up. I believe that only those who allow us to face the void remain relevant.

The book is Clarice Lispector's sixth novel and tells the story of Lóri as she immerses herself in existentialism, in love, on the empty beach, at dawn. The protagonist meets Ulysses and the novel moves on to silences, questions, discoveries about herself.

Clarice has an enormous power over the reader, at least over me, who sometimes stopped reading the book to think, rest, resume.

The book “The Hour of the Star” is a real punch in the stomach and “An Apprenticeship or The Book of Pleasures”, a knockout.

“Before you die, you live, Lóri”.

I recommend reading.
